Title: General Manager

The Wayuu Taya Foundation seeks a General Manager. The ideal candidate will plan and execute the direction and administration of the local office activities, including fundraising, programs delivery, leadership development,
communications, government relations, and fact-finding/ research and office management to advance WTF’s mission within the region. As a non-profit organization it provides challenges and rewards for professionals with a passion for public service who want their work to make a lasting impact in the lives of others, especially those in need.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Finance, Engineer or Management preferred
• 2 or more years of non-profit management experience in an operational
environment
• 5 or more years management experience
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills
• Excellent writing, analytical, research and communication skills
• Experience in monitoring and evaluation of programs
• Ability to multi-task
• Takes initiative
• Works independently
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Enthusiastic
• Dynamic
• Flexible
• Organized
• Collaborative
• Interest in the field of Social Work.
• Bilingual, English – Spanish.
• Location: Maracaibo, Edo. Zulia

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for planning, organization, and direction of the organization’s operations and programs.
• Oversee all project activities
• Ensure project activities comply with the policies and regulations of the donor organization.
• Responsible for overseeing the development and execution of project deliverables, lead project planning, budgeting, action plans and monitoring processes.
• Responsible for submitting activity reports, meeting minutes and financial reports on regular basis to the donor.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of annual activity-based project budgets as well as monthly and quarterly financial reports and sending of new funding requests.
• Lead and motivate the project team and monitor project activities and project expenditure and coordinate work with consultants and volunteers in the project
• Ensures close collaboration and coordination with cooperating partners to guarantee smooth implementation of activities and achievement of results as specified in grant agreements.
• Employs resourcefulness in project design, implementation and monitoring. Trouble shoots project problems. Identifies and implements creative solutions.
• Develops and implements consistent inventory and cost accounting policies, procedures, and operational reporting/metrics.
• Oversees and reports on the organization’s results for board of directors.
• Prepares accurate and timely analyses that capture and communicate
fundraising results, variances, and performance trends.
• Provides leadership to and manages the efforts of site staff to ensure
appropriate support of all departments.
• Supervises the development of operations-based financial modeling.
• Coordinates and leads annual budget reviews, monthly and quarterly reviews, and periodic forecast updates with operational and senior management for all locations.
• Approves major systems implementations related to cost and inventory control.
• Retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and volunteers by providing career coaching, growth, and personal development for workers.
• Develop and maintain a culture that is consistent with WTF’s values and brings out the best in people, allowing them to perform at the highest possible level.
• Ensures that services and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives.
• Work to oversee management of the physical office.
• Promote visibility and leadership of WTF in the community. Represent WTF
in the community
• Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate community institutions
and leaders.
• Participate in Government affairs activities, maintaining regular contact with
state local officials.
• Assist the team in preparing materials, notes, and other documents.
• Coordinate calendars with team and board members to plan for meetings.
• Manage inquiries to the Organization and direct people to the appropriate
team member.
• Assist in coordinating travel and logistics.
• Other administrative duties as needed.
• Assist team members with event planning, coordinating and logistics.
• Manage external partners and Allies.
• Report and communicate regularly with the team in the regional and US
office.
• Report and communicate regularly with the board of directors.

• Full-time. Office, remote work and fieldwork. Online meetings and conference calls
